It was just another day where Gustav had a lot of time to kill. Being a foreigner in a country filled with hunters, demons and humans was seething with potential for some bit of fun, or so to say. A gentlemanly pursuit to follow was to embark on a grand Safari and repeat what General Zaroff did except with multiple people, and minus Rainsford, the fall of the major antagonist General Zaroff. Such an unworthy fall of an unworthy hunter, something the blue-eyed golden-haired Swedish demon must not repeat and fail where the other man failed.
Wearing a set of typical African Safari clothing expected for British hunters to wear, including a pith helmet, he was taking his sweet merry time on top of a rooftop, sitting down on a wooden portable stool. The streets were awfully quiet, the sun was high as it was early morning due to the angle of the shadow, the emergence of those pedestrian cattle was starting to flow through despite their reported low number, hastily enough, the Swede begins to load his Golden Gun with a magazine, taking his time with it as he takes out a typical kid's telescope he has gotten earlier. It was going to help him snipe despite the badly drawn crosshair scribbled with a marker on the scope.
Soon enough, he was enveloped in the basking light of the sun, as he casted no shadow, quite similar to how a vampire of the mythic lore have a lack of reflection when they stand against the mirror. The Swede took out a duct tape as he began to duct the scope to the top of the pistol's golden length of the barrel. With a single hand, he points towards the baldest human man of the group. How he can tell they were humans? Simple, their shadows weren't stupid looking like that of the hunters or lacking one like a demon like he.
With a single pull of the trigger, the Golden Gun pops out a shell, the bullet itself spiraling out of the barrel of the gun as it sped towards the man's scalp. The bullet entering his skull as the pressure sets his entire head to spontaneously explode in a gory mess in which blood and his brains rains all over the street, the body itself falling on its back, limp, dead, immovable. "Boom. Headshot." The Swede confided to himself in his dandy tone, keeping that smile plastered on his face.
Crowd soon goes wild with frenzy as they start panicking... he didn't actually think there was a lack of demons or hunters in the area. Maybe they have no daylight saving hours around that time, pity. Those chaps will need to be hunted later on. Then Gustav notices something on his wrists... they were all blown out from the shot, torn up. Oh well, ignoring it, he promptly pulled the trigger of the gun for another shot at one of those panicking human blighters.

Post by SEISATSUNOZA HIKARI on Sept 28, 2009 21:49:05 GMT -5
back off, i'll take you on headstrong, to take on anyone well, this was lovely, wasn't it? hah, the thought was a mere joke in young seisatsunoza hikari's mind -- her eyes gazing upon the ruined city of kanki as she stood there on an empty street. there are particularly no motion other than the swaying of her hair and the even breaths from her own body. the silence was good, but silence in a ruined city was never a good sign. never. it made hikari slightly homesick -- which was quite rare, as she was used to being away from the main estate. the smell was horrid and it was going to make for a very unpleasant visit for the pianist. why, oh why, did benjiro have to bring her here? was there even anyone in this baren city, she wondered. it was very likely that she would be playing for a very tough audience tomorrow night. as she stood there, hikari sighed softly and pulled her duffle bag close, her midnight blue hair swaying behind her as she traveled calmly through the city.
she really did not know what her manager was thinking in sending her here, and even not telling her properly as to why. for starters she knew that she had a piano recital here, but if there was no one here then what was the point? no money would come from this, unless someone had wanted to find her carcass here lying around somewhere. that was a thought that didn't seem too pleasent in her mind. a chill ran up her spine as hikari moved quietly through the streets. she caught the sound of a scream and a gunshot somewhere, and -- if her instinct was right, there was probably a demon or two lying about. fun for her, no?
hikari had been briskly walking up until the point there was a crowd of regular human had formed. slightly curious, although she really did not want to be involved, she had sensed the atmosphere was particularly grim -- and so she moved closer and closer to this crowd, before finding a man dead on the ground. strange, how did one come across a dead man in the middle of a street? who would have done it? hikari frowned, before glancing around at her surroundings and steadily looked back to the man on the ground. There was blood coming from the head -- perhaps a gun shot? it made sense... as her ears were filled with the sounds of soft murmuring of the genshi civilians hikari set off in another direction that she had not intended to go in.
she looked around for any suspicious looking persons, however there was nobody on this level of ground as her. and she would have known -- or at least, sensed their presence -- if she was being followed. if she was not being followed, then maybe the killer might have been out of the vicinity already or was absolutely skilled in the act of disguise of some sort. it irked her mind that she was not able to figure out where the culprit was. she had already had her suspicious that the culprit was a demon, most likely or that it was a hunter who had made the mistake that the man who they killed was one of the opposite race. it made her smirk, if that were the case then perhaps they were a bit unskilled.
another gunshot rang loud in the air nearby as hikari neared a tall building. perhaps the culprit was out on it again, already found his next victim. it was time for some hunting to go on -- hikari's main profession. hunting was something that she did on instinct, she didn't have to think to know when she was suppose to hunt down those revolting demons that walked on this very earth that she took walked on. it was quite a pain to do, to be honest but her duty as a hunter nonetheless. it was the sense of duty she had that led on the impulse she had to just go and do her thing.
the midnight sweep of her hair trailed after her as hikari moved over to where she had thought she had heard the sound of the gun from and hide herself in the shadow of a building. her eyes looked up, and she could see perhaps the slightest speck of something at the top of the building beside her -- the culprit, most likely. acting on instinct, hikari played with several locks of her hair for a moment and placed her duffle bag down onto the ground, pulling out her her weapon, a bow and a case of arrows. this would be all that she needed, hopefully. it would be bad if she ran out of things to use as a means of defense -- but then again, hikari herself was good physically but she did not really trust her physical strength to win fights for her.
she scaled the side of the building, first jumping into the air and pushing off of the side of the buildings to reach the top of the other. her eyes narrowed as she spotted a taller man who was dressed in some sort of safari clothing. she took precautions and kept her weapon down by her side, arrows already positioned with the bow and her clothing slightly rustled; the skirt she wore that reached her knees had risen up her hip slightly whilst the sleeves of her blouse had been rolled up. "excuse me, sir." she spoke with a defiant, strong voice while keeping her eyes on her opponent. she glanced down, looking on the rooftop floor -- no shadow. definitely a demon. "perhaps you would like to cease fire?" she asked politely with authority. "i would rather not like to cause any unnecessary bloodshed, and it would be a pity if there were any more casualties."

It was quite a splendid kill, a great headshot in fact on Gustav's part. He considered this the masterstroke from years of hunting humans and hunters alike, honing his skills to a point firing guns is a second nature to him. Because of that, he found it quite easy to fire a gun without much of a recession on his part or recoil, but other reasons include the fact that he can control the monstrous recoil of the pistol due to his special 'durability' that he has had for quite a well sometime now.
Looking at the streets, he was quite gleeful of the chaos he has caused. Just another human whom he has deprived a family of, a son or father or whatever he was taken away from the family simply under the pull of a trigger. How easy it was not to hesitate and without even conscience, simply kill the boy. Why he is a boy to his eyes? Simply because Gustav is quite old, very old in fact despite his appearance as a man well in his 30's.
Watching as the crowd of what little remains of humans within the region of Kanki flow in the form of a Tsunami as they try to get out of the area to preserve what little their lives are, he sees them as sustenance. Prey attempting to escape the reach of the hunter, in which he is. A demonic hunter who considers himself superior than hunters and humans alike due to the fact he hunts them both down equally. In fact, thoughts of the hunt fondly has him remembering the tales of General Zaroff from the novel aptly dubbed 'The Most Dangerous Game'. A tale of two hunters, one hunting the other hunter which in turn was in fact the hunter hunting the one who thought that he was hunting him. In other words, he keeps in mind to beware of those who pose as hunters. A mental forewarning.
That warning wasn't well off, as he has seen from a distance, looking through his badly scawled scope, the sight of a huntress... how he knew that she was one? Simple. The fact she stood against the flowing sea current of panicking humans allowed Gustav to make such an analysis. Smiling at the jolly sight of the hunter, he wasn't afraid of her presence... rather... bemused and gleeful of her appearance. Pulling the trigger earlier probably caught her attention as she was dumbfounded at first, but now seemed more focused into finding him.
Then she simply disappears off of his sight like that, and when she did, he managed to catch her shadow before having lost track of her. Nonetheless, he smiled to himself. Her cryptic appearance sending a sort of gunner's 'high' where he saw her as another prey. Simply abiding his time, he decided to take a little bit of potshots. Honestly these humans just never learn that rather than running around like frightened animals, screaming at the top of their lungs... they could've just played dead and make it easier for them to survive, nonetheless, it was their folly that should be expected.
Pulling the scope over his right eye, the gun nearing the top of his chest, he smirks as he caught sight of another target. It was that of a teenager, with zits and all that. He had a stupid dumbfounded look on his face, jaws were reared back, eyes crossed, glasses were huge and his rather unappealing clothing made him stand out from the crowd, especially since he is standing in the middle doing nothing but gawking. That gawk was soon wiped out after a flicker of light and a bang that followed soon. Another dead with a jaw missing and lying face first on the ground.
Then pop. His attention was caught by the appearance of the suspected huntress, which now is a definite that her disheveled shadow was exposed. The demon rolling his tongue in his mouth as struck a smile that curved his lips. Quite friendly. Standing up from his seat as he pulled off the scope, ripping out the duct tapes as he dropped it to the ground. He fixes his pith hat, and inspects the arrow. Evidently enough his eyes were on it... the traditional weapon of hunters against the modern day weapons of 'huntsman'. Quite a fair transaction, the old against the new.
Hearing her attempts on persuading him to leave, he couldn't help but smile. It was just so... innocently cheeky that she demands him to scuffle off. Of course, his honor was being insulted here, but being the abstentious gentleman he is, he decided that it should best be rectified in a duel. Life at stake to preserve such honor. An old bull if one wills.
"Sorry, m'lady. I can't do that. You see, I am having the most splendid hunt interrupted. Capital hunt indeed, so I may have to kill you, so you'd know. Hopefully you'd make peace with your God and may grace carry you to wherever you consider paradise. Consider this a gentlemanly demon's courteous blessing." He pauses, lifting his pistol in her direction as he placed his index finger over the tip of his bottom lip. "Rest in peace. May the Lord have mercy with you. God's speed."
As soon as those words escape his lips, the pistol, it's sight being trained at the girl, fires at the firm squeeze of the trigger. The shell of the bullet pops out of the feed mechanism, whilst the large .60 caliber bullet itself ejects from the end of the gun's barrel and right towards where her heart would be, spiraling towards her at a high speed.

hikari was not all that surprised as she watched the demon in sight had killed another human. the poor creatures, unable to do anything for their own good. in a sense, one could say hikari was pitiing them, but then that would be lying. instead, she was just lamenting on the fact that humans were so weak... but at the same time, rather precious creatures. her thoughts rolled back to that one girl she met, with golden hair and delightful amethyst eyes. although hikari thought these ill things about humans, the girl she thought of was the exception. it was why she had the sense of duty to protect the humans, because what would happen if her beloved lost someone close to her, of her own race? the thought escaped her mind when the other talked. there was a blank expression on her face as she listened carefully, her arms ready to let go of the arrows in hand and strike the opponent. when was the last time she fought a demon like this?
her eyes watched as a pistol was pointed towards her, the man also on the ready to shoot. she kept calm, however she did not show the slightest hint of fear anywhere on her face nor with her posture -- instead she was more calm and confident that she would get out of this predicament alive. her eyes narrowed, as she heard that loud bang of the gun and the bullet was coming straight for her. now true, hikari had no type of extra-special abilities like many of the other hunters and demons did, but she was smart enough to know that she could possible dodge this... at least, if she did at this very moment.
it was a close call -- she jumped up just right at the moment the bullet was probably a few centimeters away from her body. she pulled the bow in front of her as she was, for a short time, airborne and fired her arrows straight for the man's body. the three arrows she shot would mostly be blocked, if the demon had good reflexes but she hoped that he would be hit by them. it would give her an advantage, somehow, if he was injured. she landed back onto the ground with a soft tap of her feet and she pulled out three more arrows. "i believe i won't be resting in peace anytime soon, for it will be you who will have to make peace with your god." hikari leveled her arrows and aimed for the demon's head. it was like target practice, and hikari could not count how many times she had done this in her life. her fingers let go as she fired the arrows and hoped for the best.
word count! 462 listening to! gotta be somebody - nickelback comments! sorry if i god-modded or something. i'm not really good at fights. hur.
